The NeighborWorks America Training Institute

The NeighborWorks America Training Institute — Our Founder and Managing Director Susan Silberberg is lead author of the MIT publication “Places in the Making: how placemaking builds places and communities.”

The NeighborWorks America Training Institute provides training to thousands of community development professionals and activists every year. About 1,500 training participants take courses in the Community Engagement and Neighborhood Revitalization learning areas—2 of 9 learning areas in their  curriculum. “Places in the Making” will be included in one course in each of the curriculum  areas; Strategies for More Livable Neighborhoods, the place-building course in the Revitalization learning area, and Community Organizing: Beyond Mobilization, Volunteerism, and Outreach in Community Engagement.
